| Title: How To Let Parents Know What's For Homework On A Daily Basis Lesson: I have always had problems with parents telling us that they never know if their child has homework or not. Students aren't always forthcoming about what assignments they have to do that night. What I've done is create a way where parents can check online to see what their kids are supposed to be doing that night. Here's what I've done: 1. Find an online site that will allow me to create a web page. I use a free blog site. 2. After creating an account, I have a responsible student update the page daily, detailing what the homework is for that day. I have to give the student the username and password, but once the year is over, I change the password. I work in a team of four teachers, so that student will not only post my homework, but also the homework of the other three teachers. |

Now when we have parent meetings, and the parents tell us that their child is telling them that he/she has no homework, we can get the parents to work with us to keep the student honest. It has been a great help to our team, and I am amazed why more teachers don't take advantage of this. The price of the subscription can probably be charged to the school. My school reimburses me, and it really isn't any extra work on my part. The student does all the work. Grade Level: 7-8 Subject: History Teacher: Sam Rangel School: Corona Fundamental Int.
