| Title: Name That Slide Power Point Test Review Game Lesson: In this activity, I have a Power Point slide show with about 30-45 different slides with images that have to do with the test that we will be taking soon. I divide the students into two teams. Then I pull three students randomly from each team to go to the front of the room. I have a LCD projector that displays the slides on a large screen. One of the students has his/her back to the screen. The other two are facing the screen. When I say "go," the two students facing the screen try to give clues to the other student as to what is on the screen. The first student to guess the image on the screen is the winner. |

| The rules are: 1. Can't say "rhymes with." 2. Can't spell it out. 3. Can't say a word if it appears on the screen. Example: You can't say "Bill" if the answer is "Bill of Rights." I like to throw in extra images other than test-related images such as "Sponge Bob" or "The Jonas Brothers," etc. I even take pictures of my students with my iPhone and add them to the slide just to make it more interesting. It's fun to see how students describe their classmates. Once there is a winner, I then choose another student from each team, and the students rotate to the left (or right) so that every student takes a turn in front of the screen. I've gotten to the point where I have a student call the names and keep track of points. I just advance the slides. Kids love it, and it is a good refresher of the information they need to know for the test. Grade Level: 7-8 Teacher: S, Rangel School: CFIS Location: Corona, CA |
