| Title: Tic Tac Know - Group Poster Project- Test Review Lesson: For this activity, I cut butcher paper into about 3 feet by 3 feet squares. I have about forty kids per class, so I cut about 10 squares per class. I divide the students into groups of 3 or 4 randomly. You can choose do divide them up how ever you feel best. Once the students are in their groups, I have them make a tic-tac-toe grid on their piece of butcher paper. I tell them that in each box, they need to put one concept that we have learned recently. In my case, I have them put the different events that led up to the Revolutionary War. Each box must contain the following: A title A drawing or graphic that describes the event A short paragraph describing the event Color / Quality / Spelling |

| I limit the concepts to eight, so that they can have a "free" space where I allow them to decorate how they want. Some put their names. Others draw pictures of whatever is popular at the moment - Spongebob, Jonas Brothers, etc. Once completed, I have them present their posters by group. I only have them share 4 of the boxes to cut down on time and repetition. I then post the posters on the wall, and the students then vote for the one they like the best. I allow them to vote for 2, so they can vote for their group and one other. The winning group gets an early lunch pass or some other reward. It's just another way to give the kids some review of the concepts before the test. Thanks, Sam Grade Level: 7-8 Subject: Any Teacher: Sam Rangel School: CFIS Location: Corona, CA |
